Paul Hartnoll

Paul is one of two brothers (the other being Phil Hartnoll), who made up the electronic band called Orbital. He was born on 19 May 1968, in Dartford, Kent.

The Ideal Condition is the solo album that Hartnoll released in May 2007. There is a more acoustic lean on this album than on Orbital’s past albums because that’s how he thought it would work best. Hartnoll decided (with the help of Arranger Chris Elliot) to have the album played by a union-full orchestra which is a totally different direction than Orbital would have taken.

I could listen to the ideal condition on loop for ever. Totally totally wonderful. Darth_Sephiroth, you are totally right, he is a composer who used electronics instead of an orchestra. Now he has a bit of both. I saw the Ideal Condition at the big chill and it totally blew me away. Magical stuff.

I love Orbital, and the brothers making music together again is awesome, but he should really make a new solo album

Definitely genius. He's like a modern day electric composer. (You have to hear the whole album) Anybody hear anything else like it?
