Paul Di’Anno began his professional musical career singing with Iron Maiden in 1977. His style was more punk-influenced than Maiden’s next vocalist Bruce Dickinson. Di’Anno left the band after 2 albums, mainly due to his excessive drinking problems. Despite his short tenure in the band, Paul Di’Anno was a major factor in the early development of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement.

Paul fitted well for the 1st 2 Maiden albums but with him they would never have evolved to the style they were and still are playing since. He's just a limited punk vocalist with a great attitude but Bruce def outclasses him in voice quality

Saw him live at a pub in my hometown Sandefjord last winter. He rocked big time!!! He played mainly old Maiden tracks. And to you jacoooooo: We old guys will always associate Di Anno with Maiden :-)

Yes, I think that his re-recorded Maiden traks are much better than that from 80's. He is better singer than he was. But it's awful thah everyone knows Di Anno as ex maiden singer only. The living dead which is his solo album is great.

The first Maiden album is an classic. Only thing I don't like on that album was Dennis Stratton doing background vocals. Paul really needs good musicians to work with. After Maiden, most of his stuff was rubbish. But I have to say ''The Living Dead'' (the song) is one of the best he ever did. Paul Di'Anno & Killers is something I can't really take any serious to be honest. I think I only know their album Menace to Society, but the lyrics are just ridiculous (''Think Brutal''). Even tough I love Maidens Paul-era, I think the Blaze-period was much better, since I love that progressive sound they picked up since that.
