Biography

Paul Cat (aka Paul Chain) is an Italian musician. Paul has merged his efforts in a self-produced CD (recorded in his studies and completely handmade by himself, in limited edition and in numbered copies) entitled “Metropolis” as the cult movie of Fritz Lang’s 1927. This latest disc marks the end of his long solo career in rock started in the 70s to devote himself to name Paolo Catena, its new artistic aspect, a combination between abstract painting and electronic ambient music. Paolo paints since the ’70s.

Paul has given him free for the environmental cause on its website on a free download www.paolocatena.it, now on www.myspace.com/paulcatforambientalism, a master record of 10 pieces costed to him 10.000 Euro and 5 years of work. The album was recorded and mastered entirely by Paul is completely without computers, with new non-destructive techniques that Paul studied for years, which he calls “the low volume” using one-tenth the energy compared to traditional ones, which he calls “The system of dinosaurs.” This is an extreme act of peaceful civil communication in a social world has long become extremely cold, callous and violent, without control and without poetry, ruled by irrational market fluctuations of economic profit, unscrupulous as puppets who commands great masses complacent, more disclosure, to be incomprehensibly vicious, more like things without form and self-mastery.
