Biography

Patrick Dyer Wolf was born and raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, in the long shadow of the Manhattan skyline. Directionless and confused at age 7, he received a mix tape from his dad with some Randy Newman and a bunch of James Taylor, and spent the following years taking heavy doses of Mark Knopfler, The Beatles, Christmas With The Beach Boys, some occasional Earth, Wind and Fire, and, ultimately, an unhealthy amount of nineties rock.

Patrick transitioned into folk and acoustic music in his college years, playing house concerts with like-minded strummers and singers. After graduating in 2007, he moved to San Francisco, where in late 2008 he released his eponymous debut EP. Playing in the cafe and bar scene, he teamed up with bassist, guitarist and singer Avi Vinocur of the Stone Foxes. The pair will release “Coattails,” a full length LP, in mid-2010.

Now living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Patrick has been playing new material locally with college classmate, singer, banjo player and tap dancer Rachel Kiel, as he prepares for a Spring ‘10 tour with Vinocur.
