Version 3

Patriarkus is a choir group deeply rooted in swedish folkmusic, historical music from medieval times to renaissance and traditional sing-and-songwriting. With their music they strive to offer an artistic- and vocal picknick designed to appeal to people of all ages, convictions and shoe-size. The idea is that both veterans and people who don’t normally play- or listen to these kinds of music will find something to love in their work.

Patriarkus write most of their material themselves, and take strong influences from other groups in the genre (like “Sorkar & strängar”, “Rävspel & kråksång”, “Manowar” etc). They can usually be seen performing at various medieval fairs and events like Medeltidsveckan in Visby, Kungahälla Medeltidsdagar etc.

They released their first album “Kärlek, Stordåd och Pirater” in 2007, and then released the brand new “Patriarkuspassionen” in july 2010.
