Pat Monahan is the lead singer and songwriter for the Grammy award winning band Train. He also plays percussion and saxophone. He announced on June 25, 2007 that his first solo album, Last of Seven, would be released on September 18, 2007. His first solo single, Her Eyes, started playing on radio stations in July. Since July 6, 2007, the song has been playing in rotation on the Sirius radio station, The Pulse and on XM Satellite Radio’s “Flight 26”.

Patrick “Pat” Monahan was born February 28, 1969 in Erie (Waterford), Pennsylvania.

The first time I heard 'Her Eyes' I didn't know who it was, but my mind immediately flashed to Train. As always, Pat Monahan has provided awesome vocals, and even more so solo.

There's some really great stuff on here. I prefer the rock tracks Ripple in the Water and Ooh My My, but the more contemporary stuff is really well done. Always Midnight is gorgeous and Great Escape is also very good.

The music is very similar to Train's work. So as far as sounding weird, I can't agree with that. It sounds like a pop-ier version of Train. It even has some keys in the background. It saddens me too that Rob Thomas, Emerson Hart, and now Pat Monahan are going on their own.
