Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania (1992 – 2002, 2009 – present)
Mircea Baniciu, Mircea Vintilă and Florian Pittiș first sang together on a stage at the end of a winter concert. Surprised of how it came out, they decided to stay together and form the band Pasărea Colibri. They brought along Vlady Cnejevici.
What followed next was 3 successful albums released:
1995 - În căutarea cuibului pierdut (Seeking the lost nest)
1996 - Ciripituri (Chirps)
1999 - Cântece de bivuac (Bivouac songs)
In the year 2000, Florian Pittiș gave up on the band, being replaced by Marius Bațu, ex-member of Poesis and full time collaborator for the romanian band Holograf.
In 2002 they released the album “Încă 2000 de ani (Another 2000 years)”
In the begining of 2003 Mircea Vintilă decided to focus on his solo career.
Pasărea Colibri currently means Mircea Baniciu, Marius Bațu și Vlady Cnejevici, which continues to sing successfully.
