Paranmaum (パーランマウム / 파란마음) is a fictional band from the Japanese movie “Linda Linda Linda” (2005) by director Nobuhiro Yamashita. The film deals about four girls who are planning to cover songs of the prominent Japanese punk-rock band The Blue Hearts on a school festival.

The group consists of actresses Bae Doona (singer), Yu Kashii (guitar), Shiori Sekine (bassist) and Aki Maeda (drummer). Kashii and Maeda learnt to play their instruments especially for this movie, Sekine is bassist of a Japanese rock band called Base Ball Bear. Bae - as a Korean actress - had the difficulty to sing in Japanese.

Three covers of Blue Heart songs were recorded for the movie: Linda Linda (リンダ リンダ), Owaranai Uta (終わらない歌) and Boku no Migite (僕の右手). They can be found on the movie’s soundtrack. Paranmaum also released a 6 song EP called “We are Paranmaum” in Japan and South Korea which features the three covers in alternate versions plus three songs of their own. It is available through Universal J.

Paranmaum is the Korean translation of Blue Hearts.
