Bajos Del Toro, Costa Rica (2008 – 2008)

Pantufla was the only sound recorded at the Bosque De Las Cascadas farm in Bajos Del Toro, Costa Rica during the rains of 2008. With a guitar, a recorder, chains, fists on an empty dryer, gourds (filled with beans, rice, or bolts), 30-30 shells, a wrench, a car radio, a Keebler Elf cookie tin filled with rice, butter knives, metal prison plates and wooden spoons, these sounds were put into a battery powered four track by Blair Smith (Applebeast, the iran-contra affair) and Michael Rohde , two American drifters who were able to organize these sounds to resemble songs; often assigning sections of these “songs” with names like “verses” and “choruses.”
