PANGEAN DREAMS has the intention to breath an energetic “pre-mankind” atmosphere, released from civilisation fears.
Geert de Wilde started approx. ten years ago with a sideproject of his main project IC 434, called TEMESTA. Named after an anxiolyticum (a medical drug that drives fears away, still a social taboo) was a one man project, mainly without lyrics not especially meant for one specific music scene. Some people described it as a mix of Electronic Body Music and Goa Trance. While IC 434 never uses other sound equipment than world’s first music workstation, the legendary Korg M1, TEMESTA did not follow this principle but used more modern synths and music software.

By the end of 2001, TEMESTA was renamed PANGEA (recently PANGEAN DREAMS) because a resident techno DJ from Café D’Anvers (a well know dance hall in Antwerp) called TEMMESTA (double m!) already was operating in Belgium (and a lot of bands have the name PANGEA). PANGEA DREAMS refers to the name of the supercontinent on earth, some 200 million years ago (which had a bit the shape of a foetus). Due to geological processes, this continent was divided in the continents as we know them now (Eurasia, Africa, Oceania, North America, South America, Antarctica).

Impressed by the PANGEA gig at the first Belgian Independent Music Festival at the end of 2002, Guy Van Mieghem from VOMITO NEGRO asked Geert de Wilde to join his band after the break with Gin Devo.
