Biography

Dan Amrich and Jude Kelley grew up in New Jersey and Maine, respectively, so naturally they met in California. Both played music growing up; both were big fans of “Weird Al” Yankovic; both were geeks. After working together in an 80s cover band in the SF bay area in the early 2000s, they started a side project of videogame parody songs for fun. They’re still having fun, even though they’re now on opposite sides of the country.

When not rocking, Jude Kelley is a chemistry professor with a keytar fetish, but he used to be a rocket scientist. Dan Amrich is a magazine editor with too many guitars, but he used to be a cartoon character. Everything you hear is their fault; no karaoke tracks are used for Palette-Swap Ninja parodies, and every song is recreated from scratch. The lyrics are always a collaboration.

I am having a love affair with Palette-Swap Ninja. Its just me, my ipod with Halo (All I Play-Oh) and my bed. I also have no clothes on while this is happening. Oh yeah heard about you guys through TALKRADAR

Learn to Spell always seemed, to me, like it was being recorded at home or something, and Jude was trying to not be too loud for the sake of the neighbors or something. lol - still, I was hoping you would keep this kind of thing up, & you would add more people to the "band" you'd be able to play PAX, Nerdapalooza, or something similar someday! Unfortunately, with Dan breaking some news on his blog (http://bunnyears.net) that he is moving to LA for a new career move, it may be more difficult for the two to collaborate. Still, thanks for the fun times, and best of luck - we look forward to any news from the two of you.
