  • So many versions of this song! This is one of my favorites.
  • makes me want to cry as I think of my late father and his friends singing in the pub ...they all looked so happy like life was grand for ever
  • My gosh , but what a voice ! (The lyrics remind me of an Irish WW1 veteran who once was my patient ... I got to know him and "his story" quite well , hence the "connection" .) I'm sure that Mr Snowden (born on a hillside overlooking the city of Dublin , aged 14 years when "over the top" in the first wave of "The Somme") would have much enjoyed the simply beautiful voice of Mr Paddy !
  • Superb
  • Yeah!
  • golden discs, mid 80s ...so how mixed with all that ska music ...ok so!
  • Is this the exact same version I "loved"? I usually hate orchestral stringed instrumentation like this, and I dislike this one, although I love Irish music with traditional instrumentation...
  • "The Rose of Allendale", not "The Fields of Athenrye" lol
  • LOVE IT.......;-)
