2009 was another interesting year, musicwise. I moved more towards styles like post metal and post rock and discovered a lot of such bands (Callisto, Irepress, No Made Sense, Gifts From Enola, Russian Circles).

At the same time it was also fantastic year regards progressive/avantgarde/experimental black metal as there were super albums from Reverence, Klabautamann, Oranssi Pazuzu, Semen Datura, Code.

And then there were numerous great instrumental albums from Exivious, Animals as Leaders, Kong, If These Trees Could Talk, Ozric Tentacles.

Somewhat disappointing compared to their previous albums were: Porcupine Tree, Secrets of the Moon, Irreversible, Ghost Brigade, A Storm of Light.

The best positive surprises compared to their previous albums were: Indukti, Mastodon, Isis, Karl Sanders, Minsk.

Like other years, this has been the best music's year according with my eclectic taste. It's clear that all the people have not classified the list like here show.
2009 I'll remember like a amazing music year. With expected comebacks and others surprises.
Other main note is I've decided listen 'always bands' that other new bands. Discover new bands are welcome but this year I've prefer other method.

Top 1000 Albums (1970-2009) - Part I (2000-2009)

Alright, as we near the end of this first Y2K decade, it's time to take a look back at all the best Albums that have been released in the last 40+ years.

I'll start off this extensive research with 2000, up until 2009. I'll then go back to 1980, all the way up to 1999, to then wrap things up with the 70s and before.

I'll be choosing my Top 25 Albums for each year; an ordered Top 10, and ~15 others worth mentioning. I'm also considering the live albums and EPs (~5), but they have their own section since songs on these have usually been released on official releases. The final result will be a Top 1000 for Official Albums, and Top ~250 for Live/EP albums.

These are general rankings of how I see them today, and based on my Last.FM songs playcounts (2005-now) put through the formula:

Thanks to MediaMonkey and its amazing scripting abilities, that formula gives an Album's REAL playcount, taking into consideration every song's lenght & playcount in relation to the overall album's lenght and # of songs on it.

Free System Projekt - это один из лучших новых электронных музыкальных коллективов, играющих в духе ранних Tangerine Dream ("Phaedra" эпохи).

Биография

Первоначально Free System Projekt был соло-проектом Марселя Энгельса (Marcel Engels).
Его первые альбомы, особенно "Pointless Reminder" - мелодичная версия berlin school of Electronic Music.

Начиная с альбомома "Atmospheric Conditions from 2002", группа "Free System Projekt" или "FSP" это трио, в которое помимо самого Marcel Engels ещё вошли играющие на секвенсорах: Руд Хей (Ruud Heij) - также известный по Patcwork, и Франк ван дер Вельт (Frank van der Welt). Трио продолжило играть в лучьших традициях электронной музыки от Tangerine Dream. Разжился новой музыкой — некие Ozric Tentacles, о которых раньше ничегошеньки не знал, как ни странно. Довольно-таки древние перцы, которых всё никак в какой-нибудь жанр не запихнут. Мне достались файлики с тэгом «Space Rock»; пожалуй, стоит так и оставить, вполне подходит. Оба раздобытых альбома — «Erpland» и «The Yumyum Tree» — уже второй день слушаю за работой.
