Biography

Otto von Schirach is an IDM and breakcore artist from Miami, Florida of Cuban/German descent. His style is more sporadic and noisy than other artists in the genre, and his visual aesthetic leans on the heavy metal side rather than electronic.

He has released most of his work on the Schematic and Beta Bodega labels, and was featured in the 2002 documentary Electro Dziska. Most recently he worked and went on tour with Skinny Puppy and produced a remix for Miss Kittin.

    I remember seeing this guy open for Skinny Puppy awhile back. I don't know if it was intended as such, but it was the perfect parody in a lot of ways. Him and a second guy, I assume a roadie, both danced around in an absurd hodge podge of costumry and played what was pretty much electronic noise music. It was great, but the audience was pretty mixed on it.

    It's funny. He both tries too hard to be weird as shit AND succeeds at doing so. Gave CZF a listen in my welding class last week. Everything seemed like a really vivid lucid dream afterwards. Definitely not music for casual listening.
