Biography

The Netherlands (2010 – present)

Osewoudt is a six piece neofolk band from The Netherlands, formed in 2010. The four track demo (Demo 2010) was released in the autumn of 2010 and in November 2011 the German label Lichterklang released Osewoudt’s debut album ‘Gelag van zwartgeklede kraaien’.

The music can be described as melancholic folk: straightforward melodies, martial drums, mellow accordion, multiple male vocals and dreamy and bold acoustic guitars. Thematically, the warrior ethics of the Iron Times is interchanged with misanthropic nostalgia and references to Dutch and German literature.
