Osaka Performance Doll (大阪パフォーマンスドール) or O.P.D was a sister group of Tokyo Performance Doll, an all girl dance and idol group. Osaka Performance Doll was formed as a sister group of Tokyo Performance Doll by Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd. in 1993. In April 1993, about 800 Osaka applicants auditioned to get into the group. Throughout its duration, OPD had an average age of 16 years old and an average of 19 members in the group. In August 1993, OPD had their debut stage performance at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. In October 1993, OPD performed OPD Dance Rimix at local Osaka stages.

In November 1993, five members were selected to release Osaka Performance Doll’s first single, Mangetsu no Yoru Takara/Umareta Gai no Fence wo Koete. These five were Takeuchi Yukiko, Inaba Atsuko, Furutani Ayano, Ueda Miho, and Nakano Kumiko, and were collectively called F/Unit. F/Unit is an acronym for their last names (Furutani / Ueda Nakano Inaba Takeuchi). They played the most active role in the group, releasing CDs and making television appearances. During this time the other members of OPD focused mainly on support activities and live events.

In March 1996, Inaba Atsuko and Furutani Ayano decided to leave Osaka Performance Doll. Secondary members Shigemoto Naomi and Nakamura Aki took their places in F/Unit. The new F/Unit then released the group’s final single and album before disbanding in early 1997.
