Orchestre Baobab is a Senegalese band formed in 1970 in Dakar, Senegal as a multi-ethnic, multi-national club band.

Put together by saxophonist Baro N'Diaye, original members included singers Balla Sidibe, Rudy Gomis, and Laye Mboup; guitarists Barthelemy Attisso and Latfi Ben Geloune; bassist Charlie N’Diaye; drummer Mountaga Koite; and saxophonist Issa Cissokho.   • I readlly, readlly love this band. I readlly wish I could understand what they were saying. Not knowing the snative tongue of others' have gotten me into a whoooole lot of trouble in the past. Like this one time wshen I was in Gernany and I tried to tell the policse officer to go fuck himself and sure z enough he had no idea what I was saying and I didn't even get thrown in jail. I reallky needed shelter that night and lost some of my flngers through frostbte.
