The Opposite of Faith is the brain child of J (Joel Hornsby), a Musician and Digital artist. After years of helping and supporting other artist, he has decided to try his hand at his own project. The project itself, and the production company behind it, The Apothecary, is meant to be a collective of creative artist who interact with, and create media. He states ‘I worked in the industry for years and wanted to create something where I could implement ideas and projects without limits and not have to deal with people who shouldn’t be making decision making them…’

The sound of the Opposite of Faith project follows groups like Massive Attack, Gnarls Barkley, Radiohead and Gorillaz with hints of Incubus and N*E*R*D.


‘I decided I wanted a different kind of line up and a different kind of sound…I love the general vibe of Trip Hop-but I wanted to get some more edge out of it-but not with loud guitars. That’s when I thought of centering the group around a DJ creating atmosphere, not a guitar player.’

‘I’m doing my own thing with a super low sound and a special rig. I’m also focused on creating a lot of unusual song writing ideas, but focusing on keeping it melodic and subtle…’

So far the response has been strong…
