Hope would fail me in the falling snow
And slake a wish inside
Friends would leave me in my darkest hour
Yet trust me with their lives

Yeah sure mike's killer growls weren't there but we have plenty of that to listen to already. Heritage is a fascinating album with a shit ton of avenues explored. That's the beauty of the band, vibrant versatility and textured landscapes aplenty. Not exactly a departure, possibly a detour. We've had Damnation before. This song is somewhat soothing but you're still on edge each time you listen because something is not quite cohesive, things emerge out of the soft mist and peck at you...

I don't know how I feel listening to this song, it's like I was in another world, i don't know... just peace, and the instrumental makes me remember my childhood.

I think the only thing remotely jazz-fusionish might possibly be the sound of what seems to be drum brushes. I'm really not sure they even implemented them though, but the soft beats seem kind of brush-y.

Already a masterpiece! In this song they remind me a tiny little bit of the Dire Straits ...

By FAR the best song on the album. Really moody stuff. I just wish the rest of the album was more like this.
