Deliverance is Opeth's sixth studio album, following the band's highly successful 2001 album, Blackwater Park. It was recorded between July 22 and September 4, 2002 (see 2002 in music), at the same time as Damnation, which was released the following year. The two albums contrast starkly with one another, as Deliverance is considered to be one of the band's heaviest albums, whereas Damnation experimented with a much mellower progressive rock-influenced sound.

    I don't. It muddies shit up something fierce. Listen to the tech/prog/djent/metalcore section in the title track. Listen to the drum work on the original, then listen to the remaster. It sounds like SHIT. The cymbal work is all muddled the fuck up.

    I actually really like the 2015 remix/remaster of this album. The rhythm guitars were a tad low in the mix but I almost liked certain songs more in it than the first time around, which is pretty amazing considering how phenomenal this album was already.
