Operator Please is a baroque pop band from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia that formed in early 2005 and their current lineup consists of vocalist and guitarist Amandah Wilkinson, drummer Tim Commandeur, keyboardist Chris Holland, bassist Ashley McConnell, and violinist Taylor Henderson. Original keyboardist Sarah Gardiner left in April of 2008.
Their adventure began when Elanora High School was holding its annual Battle of the Bands competition. Discovered through their MySpace profile, Operator Please is currently signed to Virgin/EMI for Australia and New Zealand and Brille in the United Kingdom.
They released their debut album, “Yes Yes Vindictive” in November 2007 in Australia and March 2008 in Germany/United Kingdom. They released their third single “Just A Song About Ping Pong” in Australia, debuting at #15 on the ARIA charts. They also released “Just A Song About Ping Pong” in United Kingdom, released their second EP Cement Cement in Australia, played Splendour In The Grass, opened for Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, and Maxïmo Park.
