Biography

Jonah Matranga is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has released a variety of solo material under both his own name and onelinedrawing, and has previously been part of the bands Far, New End Original (an anagram of “onelinedrawing”) and Gratitude. Much of his solo material has also been self-published, though often subsequently distributed through labels such as Crank! and Corrupted Image. However, his two full-length onelinedrawing albums, Visitor (2002) and The Volunteers (2004) were released by Jade Tree Records. Matranga retired the onelinedrawing moniker in 2004, and he now intends to release all future solo releases under his name.

In many aspects reminds me of Owen - which is more than good reference. And the Jawbox cover is simply brilliant!

This should be a good primer on what "emo" is. http://www.fourfa.com/ . Though I believe that music should be focused on by a particular artist and not as a subset of a genre. And so, if you appreciate the music then who really cares what one person classifies it as over the next?

He said something like this a while ago: I'm proud to be found influential in the whole post-punk scene, but I take no responsibility for mc-Emo as it generaly manifests today (can't find the exact quote, but yeah...it was something like that.) He simply rocks.

Hey guys, if you like Onelinedrawing, check out my music. I'm a big fan of Jonah Matranga's songwriting, and it comes out in my lyrics. I've got a new song up, called I Still Believe, so check it out at www.myspace.com/sometimescrazyworks. Thanks!
