Biography

One UK are an electronic rock act from South East UK. Comprised of 3 members who combine crushing guitar riffs and dynamic vocals with cutting edge music technology they create a sound that has been described as “Prodigy meets Muse” by Total Rock Radio.

Inspired by artists such as The Prodigy, Ed Rush & Optical, Alec Empire and Pendulum they have been able to take aspects from various genres and different ends of the crossover spectrum. Having shared the stage with a wide range of artists, One UK never fail to entertain whether you are into drum & bass, rock or even heavy metal.

Having recently recorded their latest single and other new material at Modern World Studios, One UK are concentrating on building their fan base in the southeast of the UK through live shows whilst trying to spread the music nationwide. They will also be playing a mini tour around the UK to promote the new single beginning late 2010.

After studying music together Will ‘De Fear’ Woodward and Jez ‘Judderman’ Sliwerski began producing electronic music together in late 2004. Having both grown up listening to rock music this later influenced the idea of fusing the two genres together. Through various parties and drinking establishments they later met vocalist Alec Bruce. Although beginning his music career in a classical background he became the lead vocalist in South East metal band Cenotaph in 2005, who claimed ‘demo of the month’ in Metal Hammer magazine before disbanding in early 2006. Later that year One UK was formed.

Two years of tweaking and perfecting and the first EP ‘On’ was ready for release in mid 2009. Shortly afterwards the second release “Organic” showed progression, a refined style and greater potential. These mark the first stage in One UK’s evolution.

Since their inception One UK have played several high profile London venues including the famous Sound in Leicester Square, have been featured artists with Feedme Music and Rock Sampler. In late 2009 Will ‘De Fear’ and Jez ‘Judderman’ achieved ‘Judges Pick’ in a remix competition judged by The Crystal Method. In February 2010 ‘Trouble’ reached no.1 in the Rock Sampler Charts and was featured as the opening track on the Rock Sampler 003 Compilation.
