Biography
One Like Son began as a High School garage band from Picayune, Mississippi. The original line-up consisted of Frontman Stephen Poff on Guitar and Vocals, Bob Brown on Bass Guitar and Dewan Watts on Drums. Over the years the groups membership was almost a revolving door with guitar, keyboard and bass players with Stephen Poff as the only consistent member of the group.
Past players include:
Verner Entrekin III - Keyboards
Travis Shuler - Guitar
Dustin Prince - Drums
Jay Thompson - Bass
Rory Anglin - Guitar
Jason Stockstill - Bass
Tim “Bulldog” Kennedy - Bass
Love Songs For The Apathetic
In 1995 While drummer, Dewan Watts and bassist, Bob Brown were attending college in North Mississippi, singer/songwriter Stephen Poff was working on what would become the first One Like Son release. Unable to work out a proper scheduling arrangement with the other members Poff instead recorded most of the record with drummer Dustin Prince, bassist Jay Thompson and guitarist Travis Shuler.
Shortly before the release of Love Songs Watts rejoined Poff along with guitarist Rory Anglin and bassist Tim “Bulldog” Kennedy.
Around 1997 while prepping for their next record the group began to experience internal troubles and eventually split up. Poff decided to continue working on what would become Goodbye with a little help from friends Brian Stoltz, Mike McAlister, George Cureau, Leann Paramore, Joseph Simms, Ryan Duke and Leon Blanda.
