Omar Cabaleiro has been creating electronic music since January 2000. Sub-genres can basically be described as electronica, house, and techno. Though his style can be somewhat variable, he mostly focuses on dark, pulsating tracks.
He was introduced to House and Techno music late in 1990 as a freshman in high school. In mid 1993 he began to DJ as a way to completely emerse himself in these genres which were still novel to him and which he loved, or actually obsessed over at the time. Ending his DJ career in mid 2002, his style became increasingly darker, more abstract, and less dancefloor-friendly the farther removed he got from the nightlife.
Over the years immediately following his departure from DJ-ing, his musical influences included more and more seemingly unrelated genres/ sources, and less and less actual house and techno- which were the genres/ styles that he was still creating tracks in.
Omar Cabaleiro drifted away from creating music and had a relative artistic drought from 2003 into 2005. It was in 2006 that he came back toward focusing a greater deal of his attention on creating music, mostly “dancefloor-oriented” tracks- particularly with a dark, afterhours dance feel. It was at this time that he more consciously adopted his preference for creating dark, pulsating house/ techno tracks.
