Old Big Bear is a cross-state collaboration between two friends from Michigan. Ethan and Jon convened at an equidistant point between Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo and made music that recalls many influences, including Sufjan Stevens, The Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine, among many of their Michigan music peers. Led by Wilcox’s vocal arrangements (“That kid’s got some pipes” - Jordan Vogt-Roberts), lush harmonies drench each song with a musicality that reinforces the emotional depth of Milner’s thoughtful lyricism.
