having taken a hardcore hiatus for the past 5 or so years and listening to other music, after listening to this, i draw many similarities to black metal. The chord shapes and structures and drumming patterns have a lot in common with black metal. Also her voice is defiantly a black metal scream. But I would still consider this hardcore. But a really cool band I enjoy them greatly.

I bought Maelstrom because it had Deathwish on it and I was bored. I found that A) that is always a good decision to make, and B) what the fuck was I doing with my life before these guys
