Nuju was formed in early 2009 by Marco Ambrosi (guitar), Fabrizio Cariati (vocals, synth, guitar), Giuseppe Licciardi (bass guitar), Roberto Simina (percussions, harmonica and organetto) and Stefano Stalteri (drums), whom Roberto Virardi (accordion, guitar) joined along the way. The band wished to create a blend of authorial mood with that of Italian pop rock (world and ethnic) music.
