How are you doing?
I am good!!
It's 9 am and I am on my way to the recording studio. Quite
My vocal chords are a bit tired. Me and my themhave had quite
a weekend. And it's not even over yet haha!
What day is it actually? Sunday. You loose track of time when
you're busy. Everything becomes and stays everything, if you know
what I mean. One big blur ;-) A FUN blur, don't get me wrong.
Having said the above, I now would like to proceed with what
I actually want to tell you... ( I am still sleepy, sorry for the
high level of randomness in this blog haha )
Today I am recording one of my favourite songs. The fun
factor is in the fact that it became a duo with a you g guitar hero
called Reinier Baas. I've already told you about how talented he
is. Ridiculous!!! You know, his last name ( Baas ) means BOSS!!!
Haha and he is a Boss on his instrument. Check him out on youtube,
google the guy. Buy his records. Support young independent
We will be in the studio till 1 pm I think. And the we have
to drive back to Rotterdam because I have a gig a 4 pm. We have a
gig at the Hillegersjazz festival. I believe we are opening.. Not
sure..but we have to leave the studio on time.
Yesterday I had a private gig with Alex, Tuur, and Bas. Keys,
drums, bass. It was a long one, home late up
The day BEFORE yesterday, the beginning of the weekend,
Well on Friday I had the honour and privilege to play with
the New Cool Collective big band on Dutch National live television.
It was the opening of the cultural season. An event called
A festival that presents different art diciplines and their
new shows. It's like a market actually. You can check what the new
year has to offer culturally.
We are almost in Weesp. My manager Mildred is driving and
Alex is sitting next to her while I am sitting in the back putting
on my safety belt!! Totally forgot!
Ok, back to the subject... "Recording and a crazy weekend".
The uitmarkt was amazing!!! I loved the stage, it was huge.
The production was huge anyway... A lot of artists.. Dutch
You know, I was super nervous!! Woeiii
In the beginning of the song I was thinking about sooo many
technical things, but luckaly all of that stress just disappeared
like "snow for the sun"
Haha it's a Dutch saying I translated very literally ;-)
In the midst of the song gravity pulled me back on the
ground. I felt my feet and my body, and I was finally enjoying the
moment. While I was in that "high" I realised the song was almost
over and I was like..." man I wish I could do one more ;-))".
Yeah I had fun doing it! Whaaa
We just made a stop at the gas station.
Ok, Alex ( my producer/co-writer/keyboard and piano player )
has his coffee, Mildred stretched her legs. We are good to go.
I am typing this on my Iphone. Not the nicest and easiest way
to blog. I will filter the mistakes later. Don't feel like it now,
I am tired. But I want to share my thoughts right? So there you
Till the next one!
One Love, peace and blessings.
