Amsterdam, The Netherlands (1983 – present)

There is more than one band by this name.

1) NRA is a band from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Their current line up is Aziz on the mic, Orange on guitar, Gwynn on bass and Mr Feaver on the drums.

It’s been many solid years of recording and touring for NRA since their first release in 1989, and they show no signs of slowing down at all. Their 2003 full length CD Machine was released in the US in 2005 on the Gearhead label, freshly edited and power-remastered by John Golden. The record is a sizzling platter of 16 tasty punkrock songs that have both melody and energy. It’s no surprise the band was picked up by the label that brought The Hives to the US. When you hear songs like “Why Did I Listen To You?” or “Real Life” you know that these guys can write hits and are for real.

NRA has a long history of putting out high quality material. Always loved by the critics, intensive live playing brought them to audiences all over Europe and the USA. The band set its marks on big festivals (like Tibetan Freedom Concert, Lowlands and Dour), small bars and every size hall inbetween. They have toured and played with bands like Green Day, Descendents, blue tip, Agnostic Front, Seein’ Red, Hot Water Music, plus many others.

2) Formed around 1983 in Christchurch, New Zealand, NRA - meaning “Not Really Anything” - eventually shared many of its members with rugged bossa nova criminals Headless Chickens.

NRA was in some ways a demonstration of local sound engineer Rex Visible’s considerable talents.
