The hard rock/metal outfit Nothingface was formed in 1994 in Washington D.C. , United States, and has quite a history. Frontman Matt Holt, guitarist Tom Maxwell, drummer Chris Houck and bassist Bill Gaal have made crushing, riveting hard rock intertwined with heavy melodies and compelling vocals. After two records for DCide, 1997s Pacifier and 1998s An Audio Guide to Everyday Atrocity, Nothingface made its major label debut on TVT Records with 2000s Violence, and 2003s Skeletons with critical acclaim. After Violence was complete, the highly charismatic Tommy Sickles replaced drummer Chris Houck and most recently, former Deadlights/Danzig bassist Jerry Montano replaced Bill Gaal.
But their story begins in the present and their past is just that the past. “I knew from the first note we played together that myself, Jerry, Sickles and Matt were supposed to be in a band writing music together,” says guitarist Tom Maxwell. “The feeling was euphoric and completely natural. It was just right. Almost any word is too small to describe the chemistry between the four of us. Not only as musicians on stage behind our instruments, but in every living condition. We’re a gang of four on a mission to punch a hole into the world.”


The members of Nothingface are no strangers to the music business. Known to be a ferocious live band with overwhelming energy, power and precision. Nothingface are an act few can follow whole-heartedly. They cut their teeth touring relentlessly, sharing the stage with the likes of Pantera, Disturbed, Mudvayne and Ministry. As well as being part of Tattoo the Earth and Ozzfest 2003.

    Skeletons is such a scattered mess with 5 amazing songs. Something like "Big Fun at the Gallows" is one of the worst songs they've ever done. It's still okay, but they really peaked on Audio Guide and Violence like Pantera did on Vulgar and Far Beyond Driven.

    Just because a band broke up doesn't mean fans can't still talk about them. But I do agree with you about Maxwell. He thinks he's hot shit because he's playing with Vinnie Paul now. And Holt, well, he might be lazy turd. But according to Houck, that was only one side to the story.

    You're musically illiterate and if that music sounds good to you and the rest of the masses then FINE but don't try and start an argument because HEAD could be on quaaludes, sleeping pills, drunk, on heroin, whatever and still play and write those ridiculous songs. Just listen and stop defending insincere hacks who suck. Your next move will be to bash some artists I like... go ahead because it will be funny to hear your ridiculous comments. I'm not into virtuosity but I do know who can and can't play/write. I spend a lot of time around musicians and you learn a lot from them. Start with Pantera and Faith No More before you go on and on about Korn/Limp Bizkit being creative, innovative "artists" with great musicianship. I can't believe some people are serious in defending that stuff. I'm surprised these people even know how to type on a computer quite frankly

    What's bad about Korn and Bizkit? Well, I'd say they can play 90% of their songs with one finger and write childish lyrics... they never progressed as artists, they've continued to milk their product for way too long. Um rhythmically almost every song is in the same BPM, their tones blow and they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to sound like that. Their singers have the most limited ranges Ive ever heard... Davis should say the word "ME" not "MAYY"... The IQ of the average fan is definitely in the mentally retarded range. They have really no dynamics in their songs... anyone with musical knowledge knows exactly what their songs will do and how they just repeat the same things over and over. Nu-Metal was a simple style of music based on hip-hop groove, distorted guitars and melodic overtones, and yeah you guys are idiots. Do you know anything about time signatures, or what a 16th note is? Do you know anything about technique or play yourselves. No, you suck. So you listen to THAT
