Nosound combines influences from 1970s psychedelia,1980s/1990s ambient, and contemporary alternative, post, and progressive rock. In July 2008 the band signed to post-progressive label Kscope/Snapper.
November 2012 will see a new EP called At The Pier feeaturing three brand new tracks and Chris Maitland (ex Porcupine Tree) at drums, and in March 2013 new full studio album will be released.

Their influences range from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Porcupine Tree to Sigur Rós, passing through rock, electronic/ambient, and postrock. The official debut album, Sol29, was released in 2005, followed in 2006 by a live DVD, The World Is Outside, which included unreleased material. A new livealbum was issued in 2007: Slow, It Goes. The third Nosound album A Sense of Loss was released on Kscope/Snapper on 26th October 2009, and on the same label the fourth album called The Northern Religion Of Things was released 25th July 2011.
