1 jan. 2012, 14h07m par TrapciolCałkiem subiektywna lista płytowa:
1. Long Distance Calling - Long Distance Calling
Solidne instrumentalne, metalowe granie... Może nie tak zaskakujące jak debiut, ale na solidnym wysokim poziomie.
2. Airbag - All Rights Removed
Płyta dorównuje debiutowi i rozwija brzmienie zespołu. Nadal słychać echa floydów, a szczególnie Gilmoura, ale to świetne niepowtarzalne piosenki o bogatej harmonii...
3. Anathema - Falling Deeper
Stare utwory w nowych aranżacjach... Można było dodać trochę więcej rozmachu (tak jak w finale)....
4. Joe Bonamassa - Dust Bowl
5. Radio Moscow - The Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz
6. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Tao of the Dead
7. Iroha - Iroha
8. Jelonek - Revenge
9. Believe - World is Round
10. John Mayall - Howlin' At The Moon

20 déc. 2010, 5h27m par Ben010783I really think Kurt had a way with words. It's funny how he would sometimes write about mundane and boring things, but sing them in a way that made them feel significant and special. People tend to interpret songs based on how they feel or their own experiences, but that's part of the what makes music great. My favorite lines are made me think, made me want to sing along, or were just cool-sounding.
"Beat me outta me"
This line is from the song Aneurysm. It is a song based on one of Kurt's ex-girlfriends.
"Afraid of never knowing fear"
This is what makes Lounge Act one of my favorite Nirvana songs. This is such a great contradiction.
"Love you so much it makes me sick"
This is another one from Aneurysm. I like to think of how heartbreak can literally make you feel sick and how how people often feel mad at themselves for falling in love.
"You're in high school again"
You would not expect a reference to School in hear because it barely has any lyrics. …

29 juin 2008, 10h30m par doceddii used to listen the hell out of Nirvana but petered out after Cobain's death, with all the hype and so .. sortof rediscovered them this weekend, and now there's all this interesting stuff to read while you're listening. man, kids have got it good today.
according to the wikipedia page , Steve Albini had not much respect for them after Nevermind, but was talked into producing their next, and last, one. That wouldnt have meant much to me at the time, but having listened to a lot of Shellac and Breadwinner and Table and Helmet In The Meantime (heh.) and countless legions of Albini-influenced shards via Built on a weak spot -- props, props to Jonathan -- in the intervening decades, that carries some weight with me now.
So i have listened and thunk and this is my conclusion: Albini was wrong, Nevermind remains a better album than In Utero. Useless trivia side note: both In Utero and Breadwinner's Albini-produced The Burner contain a track called Tourette's.
