I totally agree pinkfloid, always seemed strange to start with Left then Right, also another minor thing to back it up. Right has Into the Void as track 2, Left has La Mer near the end, obviously containing the same bassline. Seems like a convenient bookend around most of the album? Start and Finish
there has been a theory posited that the Fragile may have been intended for listening not Left to Right but Right to Left. It has been noted that in certain world cultures right comes first and left follows. If one opens with the Right disc of the Fragile, Ripe (with Decay) is a nice instrumental composition bridging the story arcs of discs Right and Left. (I personally feel that beginning the album with The Way Out Is Through and beginning part 2 with Somewhat Damaged makes a lot of sense thematically and sonically). Take the sad, brutal trip from TDS and begin a new one afresh going Right to Left...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I always preferred the funky melodic electronic pop-informed tracks above the angry metal stompers. (Right) is pretty much my favourite coherent work, bar the stupid Starfuckers, by Trent and co, save possibly PHM. It is what he does best, but the live set always favours the hard-rock alt scene.
