Nilfisk is an Icelandic band formed in 2003 consisting of Joi (guitar and vocals), Viddi (guitar), Sveinn (drums) and Sjonni (bass). They are from small villages on the south coast of Iceland and got their big break when Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters heard them play and invited the band to open for the Foo Fighters’ 2003 tour in Reykjavik.

This was the band’s first public performance.

Since then, the band has been touring Iceland, performing in pubs and festivals. Their debut album, “Don’t run after your own apples…” is at this point, not available outside Iceland.

The band also appeared in the 2005 documentary Gargandi Snilld (Screaming Masterpiece), about the Icelandic music scene. The film included footage of Dave Grohl introducing Nilfisk at the Foo Fighters concert and an interview with the band.
