Great song . It reminds me of an ancient hymn tune. I totally agree with 'sunheadbowed''s comments below. I actually saw Nico live at Aberdeen Univsersity Union about 30 years ago , about the time she appeared with Bauhaus singing 'Waiting For The Man', and was having a bit of a renaissance. It would be nice to hear a cover version by say Sigur Ros or The Unthanks, in my humble opinion.
Brian Eno's synth and John Cale's viola are hypnotised moths fluttering around Nico's dangerous black flame. They captured lightning in a bottle, and it perfectly represents the potent magic of the 60's-70's avant-underground period (..and yet it sounds thousands of years old, and not of its time at all..)
