Nick Stubblefield (born October 18, 1987 in New York City) is one of a growing number of independently produced musicians in America. He grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, where he was recognized in the local media as a musical prodigy on piano. He distinguished himself further as a particularly adept user of electronic keyboards, developing an “uncanny” ability to take advantage of certain keyboard sounds, particularly bass, vibes, and saxophone.

By the age of 13, Stubblefield was working as a pianist on weekends at the world class resort hotel and Spa, the Grove Park Inn. In 2003 Muleboot Studios (an Independent Music Producer) released his CD “Tried As An Adult.” The album includes original and non-original compositions recorded with the electronic keyboard overdubbed in various instrument voices, effectively creating the impression of jazz bands in various combos.

In 2004 Stubblefield formed the jazz trio “Spitfire.”

In 2005, The International Jazz Festival Lapataia in Punta del Este, Uruguay, invited Stubblefield to perform in January 2006, with jazz saxophone prodigy Alex Han of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Stubblefield has composed a number of jazz pieces for piano and jazz combo, including “Senioritis.”

In 2006, Nick began his collegiate education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Nick is part of the Residential College at Mary Foust, a living-learning community on campus.
