• While U Were Out - It's Always You 2014 rock

    While U Were Out - It's Always You (song review) |self-released, 2014| 4/5

while u were out (also known as TWPHMusic) is a composing and recording British duo founded in 2013 and consisting of Trevor Wiles (keyboards) and Paul Hadler (vocals & guitar). Both musicians however, have already been writing music collectively for over 10 years.

While U Were Out’s debut single titled 'It's Always You' was released in mid-2014. It’s a pop-rock song with hit potential. It begins with a grungy-dirty rhythm guitar riff that is soon joined by another riff, tuned up higher to build a contrast. Drums and bass come next. The vocals are rather high, clear, initially quite gentle, getting emotional in choruses.

Most listeners prefer music they've already heard before in terms of melodies or arrangements. Thus, they are more eager to learn about and buy songs recorded in a style similar to the ones they already know. The composition and arrangements here were written with a classical approach. …

    The Australian Pink Floyd Show

Don't be afraid to care!".

  • Music connections with Cambridge, UK

    1 Nov 2008, 14:54 by thefentiger

I wrote this journal a while ago with the intention of compiling a list of all the music connections of my hometown. It's not quite complete and needs editing, but thought I'd add it to Last FM anyway (and hopefully I can edit it afterwards!). Here we go....

Pink Floyd Members Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason. Many of the bands album covers were designed by Storm Thorgerson.

One of the founding members of Pink Floyd Syd recorded two albums with the band The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (released 1967) and A Saucerful of Secrets (released 1968). • Song Of The Day - 06 Sep 2008: If

    Pink Floyd / If / Atom Heart Mother (2) / Oct 1970

Happy 65th Birthday to George Roger Waters! (...and #38 to me!)

The second side of their first UK #1 album featured a song from each one of the main songwriters, as well as closing out with a 13-minute suite arranged mainly by Nick Mason.

I thought Roger's song was the best selection for this time of year over any of his solo works, and especially good for our shared birthday, when I typically do a lot of introspective thinking:

"When that fat old sun in the sky is falling /
Summer evenin' birds are calling /
Children's laughter in my ears /
    The last sunlight disappears /
And if you sit don't make a sound /
Pick your feet up off the ground /
And if you hear as the warm night falls /
The silver sound from a time so strange /
Sing to me, sing to me /
When that fat old sun in the sky is falling"
