Biography

Niadem’s Ghost was formed by singer Peter Nicholls after an acrimonious (albeit temporary) departure from IQ in 1986. Presenting a more modern take on than IQ’s, which the inclusion of Slaughter & The Dogs drummer Brian Grantham underlined, their stripped down power made a big impact on the small gig scene in the UK over the next couple of years. Their self-financed vinyl LP, In Sheltered Winds, mostly fell short of capturing the thrill of the live Ghost experience, but 1987’s three-track cassette Thirst came closer, and was included on the eventual, posthumous CD of the album.
