    I'll keep this brief as I wrote a fairly extensive review of the "Famous Blue Cheese" Leonard Cohen tribute night back in April. This gig was a launch of the live album compiled from the three Famous Blue Cheese performances.

    For the first set, Monsieur Camembert played selected highlights from the Cheese set. Three of the four guest artists were there to lend a hand. Only Abby Dobson didn't make it for the night. Once again the crowd really seemed to love Ngaiire Joseph's efforts, but her style really doesn't work for me. Part of the problem is that she underemphasises her consonants, which might help bring out the tone of her singing, but it means that much of Cohen's poetry is lost if you can't understand the words!

    The second set comprised traditional Camembert favourites, including Istanbul and Hava Nagila. The band were clearly much more comfortable with this material and had a great time. …
