“Bizarre Love Triangle” is a single released in 1986 by New Order. A version is included on their album Brotherhood.
Though generally regarded as one of the group’s best singles, it failed to make the UK Top 40, only reaching #56. It was, however, a surprise hit in Australia, reaching #5 and initiating a string of five consecutive Top 20 hits. In the U.S, the song’s popularity has only climbed steadily since 1986 and it is considered a classic in many circles.
In 2004 the song was ranked #201 in Rolling Stone’s “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.
The 12-inch version appears on the compilation Substance and a remix by Stephen Hague features on their Best Of album.
The music video was directed by American artist Robert Longo. It prominently featured shots of a man and a woman in business suits flying through the air as though propelled by trampolines; this is based directly on Longo’s “Men in the Cities” series of lithographs.
The single mix features a cleaner sound with more electronics than the album version, notably the Fairlight CMI music workstation, the premier sampling keyboard workstation of the eighties, used to provide novel sounds, such as the orchestral hits that were so popular, but also to sequence the song. All instruments minus bass and voice were sequenced.[3]

BLAISERK: No, music (or any kind of art) is NOT totally "open to your own interpretations as you relate the song to your own understanding and personal experiences." For a critical statement to be valid, it has to be based on the evidence in the text. While there are often many different valid views about any piece of art, that doesn't mean there aren't any TOTALLY WRONG views. You can't say this song is about horses, or postmen. It's just not there. I can see some evidence that _might_ point to drugs, but it could just as easily be about any other compulsive behavior ("living a life that I can't leave behind"). As for what _is_ there: not a whole lot, really. The whole deal with New Order is that the words are pretty vapid, but the music makes them sound good. So what you _can_ say is that this song is about a feeling of mixed delight, bewilderment, and regret. OK? I wish people would quit this BS about no wrong answers -- it makes it pretty hard to say anything true about art.

However there are other interpretations here as well. Music being a personel experience for the listener is open to your own interpretations as you relate the song to your own understanding and personal experiences. Hope this sight helps. Great song. Wonderful poetry and open to interpretation(s) as is all art.
