The New Bomb Turks are an American garage punk band from Columbus, Ohio. Formed in 1992, they are part of the early ’90s garage rock revival wave that included bands such as the Dwarves and the Supersuckers. Members have included Jim Weber, Eric Davidson, Bill Randt, Matt Reber and Sam Brown. Their lyrics are generally humorous. While they have a large recorded output, they developed their following through their high-energy shows.

They have released over twenty singles, ten full length LPs, and a handful of EPs. The singles often contained unreleased tracks that are among the New Bomb Turks’ fan favorites.

As of 2005, the New Bomb Turks have slowed down their touring and recording in order to pursue other interests. If you’re lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, you can still catch a live show.

This month is the final part of a trilogy of shows focusing on punk and hardcore in my home town of Southampton. There are tracks from Gordon Gano’s Army, Business of Death, 7 Arrows Through Your Bastard Heart, Through These Eyes and Minute Manifesto. There’s also a bunch of other cool pop punk and garage tracks from the Tramrons, the Marked Men, New Bomb Turks, Bangers and No Bunny.

Probably my all time fave for the rock (encompassing punk) genre. "the very best garage punk. a lot of bands have tried to sound like them." I agree. Although I did find some good bands on the way like Rocket From the Crypt, Oblivians, and even The Hellacopters. Although I have owned Punk-O-Rama Vol. 3, 4 and 5 since they came out, I never heard much of the New Bomb Turks other than on those albums. Over the years the songs "Defiled" and "Snap Decision" really grew on me. As I started getting more and more into Rocket From The Crypt, I decided that I Would give the New Bomb Turks more of a listen. So I started checking out their other albums, and boy am I Glad I Did!!!! Easily my new favorite band :D
