The original The Gallant Crow is by Skepticism, who I generally much prefer to Nest. The two bands aren't much alike, though, except arguably in atmosphere. Check out "Stormcrowfleet," I guess - it's both their best and contains the original of this track. This cover is incredible, though, much respect.

This is great. I didn't realise it was a cover. Who did the original and is their music as good as Nest?

the general feeling of "aerial" sadness is ok, but what's left of the original tidal pace, the very flesh of funeral doom ?? somehow miss it, though Nest did an overall good cover

Absolutely love it, too. The atmosphere is pure magic. Reminds me a lot of the "Hobbit" sceneries described in the book.
