Biography
There are 3 artists named Nessie:
1. A progressive rockband from Belgium that made two self-recorded albums (never released on cd format) in the 70’s. Their music is mostly symphonic with some experimental elements (like in Gentle Giant’s music) here and there.
2. The ringleader and vocalist of Nessie & Her Beard.
3. A Pop-Punk band based in Raleigh NC. All three members are currently still in high school.
The origins of Nessie can be traced all the way back to 2004. Geoff and Tony met while sharing the same classes at Wakefield Middle, and eventually started “jamming” together, while also attempting a few blink-182 covers. They immediately realized their incredible talent, and began the search for a bassist. The search came the a screeching halt when Geoff talked to their mutual friend, Mike Hopkins. Apparently Mike had recieved a bass the previous Christmas, and was looking for a band. With Mike’s friend Jared handling vocals, “Second Hand” was born.
The new group decided to share their talent with the world, and found a perfect opportunity in the Wakefield High School Talent Show. This incredible performance was memorable for many reasons; Geoff’s awe-inspiring drum solos, Mike’s astonishing bass proficiency, and Tony’s hilarious 6 inch vertical leap will forever be etched into audience members’ memories.
