Biography

Nero Milkseed is a prolific British experimental composer who lives in France and tends to produce either short and intense bursts of spontaneous distorted music or much longer pieces that contain changes that are subtle and textural. He asserts that his music is not anarchic, but instead contains many dimensions. It is produced with the minimum of mental intervention, departs from the rational and asks listeners to “Go with the flow; ask no questions, then you’ll get answers!”

Changes in slight nuances of sound is important to Nero, questioning if evolution and structure is necessary during a piece. Nero believes he is on a mystical quest - a discovery of sound and soul - and wants to “present incomprehensible things to the ears, as only they have the chance of enlightening the listener”.

His only instruments are guitars: acoustic, electric - recorded both naturally and also heavily processed.

Influences: The No-Wave scene, including - Mars, DNA, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, Glenn Branca, Theoretical Girls, Suicide, Métal Urbain, MC5, and early Velvet Underground.

Nero is quite prepared to journey by himself, but welcomes anyone who wishes to follow.
