Numerous artists use the mononym Nelson as their stage name or on some releases:
1. A melodic glam metal / AOR band from the United States
2. The Belgian actor and singer Nelson Moraïs
3. The soca musician aka. Lord Nelson
4. An indie rock band from France
5. An R&B singer from the United States
6. Robert Frederick Nelson the trance producer from Northern Ireland

For the British singer/songwriter duo, see The Nelson Brothers.

1) Nelson is a melodic glam metal / AOR band founded by Matthew and Gunnar Nelson (the twin sons of Ricky Nelson.) They had a No. 1 hit in the United States with “(Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection” during the week of September 29, 1990. They are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only family to reach number one record status in three successive generations (beginning with grandparents Ozzie and Harriet Nelson).

The band split with Geffen Records record label after 1995, but they have continued to produce and release albums independently under their label, Stone Canyon Records. However, they have yet to revisit the level of success they experienced during their 1990 debut.

2) Nelson Moraïs

These guys aren't glam metal nor have anything to do with it. [2] They're more like melodic rock/pop rock, than followers of Mötley Crüe / Bon Jovi etc.

I really hate that they're compared with the worst of the hair bands. I mean, I love hair bands but they're so much better than Danger Danger, c'mon! Fantastic melodies, great harmonies. Jani Lane quality songwriting IMO. Who cares about the hair?
