This is a real revelation. I'd avoided this album, thanks to bad reviews and, had I heard it when it was released, I would have laughed out of the water, but hearing it now just reminds me that with someone as bloody-minded and talented as Neil Young, what you get from these sort of digressions from his usual sound, is a valid and valued addition to the rich tapestry of his output, and there are very, very few artists you can say that about. Neil Young: thank you!

Arg - decent songs but remaster it and lose the horrrible horrible synthy reverb drum tat nonsense. That being said, saw him the other week and he's just on form! lap steel and heavy crunchy guitars, bluesy apocalyptic solos, delicate, clean, accoustic songs and great harmonies. I think he's getting the hang of this

Terribly underrated. OK, Touch the Night's chorus is almost a Bon Jovi parody, but the rest of the album is fine. Weight of the World, Violent Side, Hippie Dream, Pressure... when will the world realize these are great songs?
