Biography

As a young girl, Nathasja van Rosse was already giving concerts as well as radio and television appearances. In 1987 she played the opening concert at the inauguration of the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam attended by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

Following her schooling at the Rotterdam conservatory she studied in Graz with Leo Witoszynskyj and absolved her soloist diploma with Zoran Dukic in 1999 with excellent results . Further masterclasses with great guitar virtuosi of the day such as David Russell, Alvaro Pierri, Pavel Steidl and Carlo Marchione culminated in her successes at many international competitions where she has often been a finalist.

Since her debut CD `Guitar Music of South-America´ (Jan. 2000) she is considered one of the leading young interpreters of classical guitar music and has been a guest at numerous international guitar festivals. With the recently released CD ´Levantine´(Jan. 2007) she shows again her broad musical palet, devoting herself to compositions written in the last Decade. Several works, such as the jazzy “Changes” by Olaf Tarenskeen and “El Rio Guadalquivir” by Erik Otte, were dedicated to her and are among the world premieres on this remarkable disc. It shows that all musical roads are open to Nathasja van Rosse. Her interpretations have received excellent press reviews (Le Cahier de la Guitare, Classical Guitar, Gitara Poland, Acoustic Review, Akustik Gitarre).
