Ramblin' rose, ramblin' rose
Why you ramble, no one knows
Wild and windblown, that's how you've grown
Who can cling to a ramblin' rose?

This has been one of my favorite songs since I was a kid, and it always reminds me of my late grandmother, Rose. One of our last conversations was about music and I mentioned this song and she said "The Nat King Cole version, right? You cannot listen to any other version, his is the best" and then she proceeded to sing it.

If you don't believe that all Modern music spawned from (1st) Gospel, Jazz (Rag Time), and southern Blues.....this one proves it well. esp. in the Gospel department.

Simplesmete: Incrivel. é um retorno ao passado romantico que se perdeu com tanta tecnologia em subestituição à poesia dos tempos de Nat King Cole.

Nat had a brilliant musical career as a jazz pianist before his smoky voice caught others' attention. It' s the smoking that killed him. This tune was hugely popular on the jukeboxes here and in Europe. Reminds me of my mom when I was little and she was getting drunk after her divorce.
