It's one of his more focused sets of tracks but although the album is generally thematically consistent, some of Nas' viewpoints are hazy and his statements a little naïve and contradictory... He paints vague pictures of America's problems rather than examining them and let's his own myth get in the way. Too many tracks lack context and depth and we don't truly get a sense of the place of the African American (or what the "n" word means) in today's society... A lot of the tracks are very good but as a whole they just don't add up to anything close to conclusive... It's a little disconcerting when Nas tries to challenge stereotypes and winds up doing the same himself (see the second verse of You Can't Stop Us Now). He spends too much time apportioning blame... I still give this a weak 8 because the sequencing is spot on and the beats are mostly impressive...

After "Project Roach" it starts to lose it's flair.

Forgot how many dope tracks were on this joint. Good listen. 8/10, poignant and potent, Nas delivered this concept probably as well as any could.

Take away Make The World Go Round (not a bad song at all, just misplaced and a little too flashy) some uncomfortable hooks, rather drab cadences and a few dodgy statements and you have a very, very strong album. God's Son and Street's Disciple are only marginally better as it is. Untitled is tighter than Life Is Good.
